Weston will be a place where Shropshire plugs into the prosperity of the West Midlands and leaves a lasting legacy for future generations. Jobs, training, public transport, community facilities and green spaces come together in a model 21st-century settlement, where carbon emissions are reduced to zero.
A place designed to bring it all together. The masterplan for Weston sets the boundaries of the settlement and puts everything in the optimum place: schools near homes, homes near green space, innovation & learning near business, employers near major roads & rail. The natural landscape breaks up the built environment into one traditionally designed village and separates employment space from homes.
The village will offer nearly 3,000 new and affordably priced homes on land furthest from the motorway. A new health centre, schools and amenities will meet the needs of new residents and relieve pressure on those in neighbouring communities, providing capacity and choice for existing residents.
The Midlands Tech Park at Weston will provide 4 million sq ft, equal to 62 football pitches, for major employers – dynamic businesses that both local and regional governments want to attract. The park will accommodate the industries of the future – advanced manufacturing, agritech, modern methods of construction and renewable technologies – strengthening existing local clusters.
