Alexander Newport
Managing Director

Alexander assumed full-time management responsibilities in 2019 for the Estates which his family has stewarded for over 700 years. 

After growing up in Shropshire, Alexander moved to London to study and gain experience within real estate management.  He has worked in the industry for 15 years, including being a graduate at DTZ, now part of Cushman and Wakefield, the global consultancy, followed by a decade as a partner at industry leaders, Quadrant Estates, where he developed  over 1 million sq ft of world class office and residential buildings in London and managed a successful portfolio of leisure and retail properties extending to several million sq ft.

Rob Paul
Estates Director

Rob joined the Bradford Estates team as Estates Director with the responsibility for strategy and overseeing the operations across the portfolio.   

He was previously the Director in charge of Strutt & Parker’s Shrewsbury office, the Estates’ last managing agent.  His core experience lies in estates management, estates strategy, energy and commercial leases for diversification in the rural environment.  Other roles included heading up the firm’s Telecoms Group, supervising the APC qualification process for rural graduates across the country and a member of S&P’s Rural Executive, responsible for running the Rural Business nationwide.  With 26 years of experience in the profession, Rob is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has worked with various boards, in the provision of guidance for fellow professionals over the last decade. He is also a registered Valuer and an accredited Expert Witness. 

Adrian Brindley
Finance Director

Adrian joined Bradford Estates in January 2021 responsible for the Finance team and all financial matters across the Estates, supporting the growth of the business and developing strategic operations into the future.

Adrian has worked in finance and property for over 20 years and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, qualifying in the Audit & Assurance team at Deloitte Birmingham and working most recently at house builder Taylor Wimpey as Midlands Finance Director. Before Taylor Wimpey, Adrian worked at London & Cambridge Properties in a JV with Evolve Estates in a dynamic and passionate family-run investment property business. Adrian is also a member of the ICAEW Real Estate & Construction Advisory Group which includes giving feedback to Government agencies on topical issues and consultations affecting the real estate sector.

Adrian grew up in Birmingham and now lives in Solihull with his wife and 2 children. Adrian’s main hobbies are sport related, managing to play some hockey & golf still although increasingly as a spectator and driver for his children’s weekend activities!

Steve Farrow
Property Director

Steve is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the Estates.   

Having been born and raised in North Lincolnshire, Steve first moved to Shropshire in 2001 to study Rural Enterprise & Land Management at Harper Adams University.  After graduating, he started work in Smiths Gore’s Lincoln Office where he remained until 2012, before taking a new role in the Lichfield office and a chance to return to Shropshire.  Smiths Gore later merged with Savills and Steve remained with them until 2018 when he joined Rob at Strutt & Parker’s Shrewsbury office to lead the Estates Management team. 

Steve has managed rural estates and property portfolios since the very beginning of his career, for private individuals as well as corporate bodies, charities and national landowners. 

Outside of work, Steve is kept busy and smiling by his triplet boys and also enjoys being outdoors, particularly walking or running in the Shropshire countryside.

Oliver Scott
Farm Manager

Oliver joined Bradford Estates in February 2021 as Farm Manager, responsible for executing the strategic plan to create a market leading agribusiness. Focussing on sustainable farming systems, our ambition is to establish the largest regenerative farm in the West Midlands. We also aim to become a centre of farming excellence, working with local and national education and research institutions, to help advance the understanding of sustainable farming systems and practices.

Oliver’s childhood was spent on a farm in the Pewsey Vale that his father managed and he went on to study Farm and Farm Management at Lackham College. He worked for various farms and contractors in the local area before packing his bags and heading off to Perth, where he spent 16 months travelling and working around Australia and New Zealand’s South Island. On his return, he went on to study an AgriFood Marketing course at Harper Adams University. Upon his return he was an assistant manager on a farm in West Sussex before moving to the Holkham Estate in 2010 followed by the Thelveton Estate in South Norfolk.

In his spare time he enjoys swimming, walking his dog, shooting and skiing.

Mark Lucas
Building Foreman

Mark has been with the Estates for over 30 years. He originally joined in 1989 as a carpenter and three years ago was promoted to Building Foreman, responsible for managing the building team.  He is a walking encyclopaedia of the Estates and oversees the day-to-day emergencies which arise.  

Mark has two children who grew up on the Estates and his hobbies include walking and cycling.  In his youth, he represented Shropshire in track and field events as a member of Telford athletic club.

Helen Corban
Property Manager

Helen is the Residential and Commercial Manager at Bradford Estates and is chiefly responsible for the letting of residential and commercial properties on the Estates together with the grazing agreements.   Her role brings together her previous property experience as a Residential Lettings Manager and Valuer at Jayman Estate Agents, a Commercial Property Manager at Langtree Developments PLC and a Commercial Agency Surveyor at Kingston’s Property Consultants.   

Helen grew up on a dairy farm in North Devon, is a keen runner and enjoys walking.  She also has two young children to keep her busy.

Gemma Parker
Finance Assistant

Gemma joined the Estates in February 2017, bringing with her over 10 years’ experience in the finance sector. She assists Adrian with the day to day finance tasks and looks after the charities. 

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling with friends and family, socialising, walking and is currently learning Italian.

Debbie Boyce
PA to Managing Director

Debbie has been the Estates PA since June 2018 and enjoys the varied role supporting Alexander and the wider team at Bradford Estates.  Previously, she has held senior administrative roles, renovated a house and trained as a holistic therapist.  Debbie’s hobbies include travelling with her family and walking\cycling.

Lizzie Ward
PA to Estates Director and Property Director

Lizzie joined the team in July 2020, having also worked at Strutt & Parker with both Rob and Steve. Lizzie was a PA in the Land & Estates Management team for over four years and she now continues to work as a PA for the Estates & Property Directors at Bradford Estates. In her spare time, Lizzie enjoys being outdoors, whether it be hiking, running, mountain biking or spending time with her cocker spaniel, Murphy.

Samantha Andrews
Administrator

Sam has worked in the Estates Office for three days a week as a Finance Administrator since June 2019.  She enjoys being busy and the fact that there is variety in her role as no two days are the same. 

When she is not working, she loves walking around the beautiful county of Shropshire and tries to get out each day; sometimes before she starts the day in the office.  She is also a keen supporter of Watford Football Club.
